Monarch Butterfly Grove
You Can't Miss This Pismo Beach Marvel
An enchanting part of California’s natural history is the annual Monarch Butterfly migration. Every year, thousands of Monarch butterflies migrate to Pismo Beach, seeking a temporary home from the cold northern Winters. From late October to February, these beautiful orange and black butterflies flock to the Eucalyptus trees at Pismo State Beach.
Spectators from all over the state gather to view these beautiful Monarchs. Visitors are greeted by knowledgeable and well-informed volunteers, which offer information and daily speaking at 11 AM and 2 PM (weather permitting). During the season, the Docent Trailer opens at 10 AM and closes at 4 PM every day. Our hotel is located just 1 mile from the Monarch Butterfly Grove and Pismo State Beach.
