January and February is a great time to make your reservations at the Sandcastle Inn. We invite you to experience what locals and naturalists in the area already know—the Monarch butterfly migration is an amazing thing to see. Pismo Beach has its own Monarch butterfly grove, full of Eucalyptus trees, located right on State Highway 1.
The Monarch butterfly grove is only about a mile away from the Sandcastle Inn—an invigorating walk or easy bike ride. To get there; take Stimson Avenue away from the beach and up one block. Turn right onto Cypress Street, which merges with State Highway 1 in about four blocks. Continue on for about ½ mile and watch for the 4th Street exit. Turn toward the ocean and follow 4th Street to Grand Avenue then turn right onto Grand Avenue and the butterfly grove will be on your left in about ½ mile.
Anyone here at the Sandcastle Inn would be glad to answer your questions about the butterfly migration or the best times to see it. Call us today at 1-800-822-6606.
